Looking for an all-around beautiful pepper plant that produces wonderful tasting and a unique ripening stage? This pepper is the one for you! These pepper plants grow up to 3 ft. tall and produce 3″ pods that start off a creamy white color, changing from light green with dark green stripes, to a vibrant orange with dark red and brown streaks. The Fish Pepper was a favorite during the late 19th and 20th centuries in Baltimore and the mid-Atlantic states, traditionally used in oyster and crab houses in the northeastern United States. The name “fish pepper” is most likely correlated to the chile’s popular use with seafood. It is such a tasty, delicious pepper as its flavor is similar to the serrano which is like a fresh and bright pepper flavor!
